Our Mission
C.R.E.A.T.E. Child Enrichment Center (CCEC) is a learning center that provides early childhood education and child care services with an emphasis in cultural growth and awareness, the arts, and social development. We provide efficient and adequate learning tools to improve school readiness and that may be applied throughout our children’s lifetime. The Director’s passion is to give back to the community and serve the youth. C.R.E.A.T.E. is an acronym that stands for Culture, Recreation, Education, Agriculture, Talent, and Empowerment.
Our mission is to provide a stimulating child care environment that promotes each child’s social, emotional, physical, cognitive, cultural and creative development in which they recognize and maximize their potential.
C.R.E.A.T.E.
CULTURE: Culture shapes experiences and influences children’s development. Through their culture children learn which behaviors and temperaments are preferred or discouraged. Our approach to enhancing and expanding learning will be through different forms of play (object play, symbolic play, pretend role play) that create various kinds of cultural environments for learning and aid in active development of subcultures.
RECREATION: Classes will be designed to give the young child an opportunity to play and interact socially as they learn to become cooperative members of a group. Positive social behavior and hands-on experiences will be explored daily.
EDUCATION: One of our main objectives is building skills such as pre-reading, language, vocabulary, and numeracy. We will provide an environment rich in language and literacy interactions to ensure our children acquire the essential building blocks for learning how to read. A child who enters school without these skills runs a significant risk of starting behind and staying behind. We will improve school readiness by developing cognitive skills including, problem solving, creativity, imagination and memory.
AGRICULTURE: Research indicates that when students learn where food comes from, how it is grown, have hands-on experiences, and use their senses to understand it, they are more likely to taste new food items and accept them as part of their diet and build a foundation of lifelong healthy choices. We will implement nutrition education and create our very own community garden.
TALENT: We strongly believe that childhood should be about discovering talents and understanding the value of individuality! Through our talented and gifted program and experiences, we will help our children recognize and cultivate the inklings of their talents and help build the right framework for achievement.
EMPOWERMENT: A key role of the Center will be to empower children and their families. Empower them to thrive and prosper by understanding self-value, purpose, and taking control of their own lives. To help each child realize his or her full potential, we support parents as their child’s first teacher, access to quality early learning environments, and promotion of positive child health.
As research shows, children’s care and educational needs are intertwined. Poor care, health, nutrition, and physical and emotional security can affect educational potentials in the form of impaired cognitive and behavioral capacities, motor development delay, depression, difficulties with concentration and attention. Inversely, early health and nutrition interventions have been shown to directly contribute to increased pre-school attendance. Studies have demonstrated better child outcomes through the combined intervention of cognitive stimulation and nutritional supplementation. C.R.E.A.T.E. Child Enrichment Center is a leader in providing these solutions and uplifting our community. We will unite with other organizations and individuals to encourage and promote positive change.
